Meet Alicia, EMPOWERink's owner and tattoo artist

Hi, I’m Alicia — founder of EMPOWERink. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, I’ve called Denver home since 2019. Before launching EMPOWERink, I spent over a decade as a commercial interior designer, creating spaces where people could work, connect, and thrive. Design has always been my way of bringing creativity and comfort into people’s lives.

In 2023, my world shifted when I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. The months that followed were filled with difficult decisions — from a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction to four rounds of chemotherapy. It was the hardest experience of my life, but it also gave me a new perspective on strength, beauty, and healing.

For a long time, I resisted the label of “breast cancer survivor.” I didn’t want that to define me. But over time, I’ve learned that embracing my experience has given me a deeper sense of purpose. It reminded me that empowerment isn’t about what happens to us — it’s about how we rise and rebuild.

That realization led me to paramedical tattooing — a field that allows me to merge creativity, compassion, and artistry to help others feel whole again. My mission through EMPOWERink is simple: to help people reclaim confidence in their bodies after trauma, surgery, or life-changing experiences.
